Over the past three years, Green Dade has provided inspection, design, and construction support for electrical upgrades at sanitary sewer lift stations (15-60 HP dual pumps) across multiple pump stations owned and maintained by the Miami-Dade County Water and Sewer Department (WASD). Our scope includes electrical, communications, and SCADA system design, ensuring compliance with FEMA flood elevation requirements while optimizing constructability and maintenance access. Key responsibilities include upgrading electrical infrastructure with new meters, service disconnects, control panels, and SCADA with Remote Terminal Units (RTUs). Additionally, Green Dade has supported the provision of permanent generators for critical pump stations, enhancing reliability and resiliency during power outages.
Green Dade has successfully executed Arc Flash Studies and Electrical Safety Compliance assessments for over 150 pump stations under the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD). Our role includes conducting site inspections, collecting electrical data, and verifying fault current levels to ensure compliance with NFPA 70E regulations. We develop Arc Flash Models, generate site summary reports, and document transformer locations, service disconnects, overcurrent protection devices, and cable details. Additionally, we coordinate with FPL to verify fault current data and actively participate in WASD review meetings to align with project requirements. Through our expertise and meticulous approach, Green Dade has enhanced electrical safety, reduced arc flash hazards, and optimized system reliability across Miami-Dade County’s critical infrastructure.
Green Dade played a pivotal role in the Citywide Smart City and Lighting Project, serving as the Lighting Engineer of Record and QAQC Manager to modernize Miami Beach‘s lighting infrastructure. Tasked with retrofitting up to 1,400 light poles, Green Dade provided expert lighting design, photometric analysis, and system integration, ensuring compliance with city standards while optimizing energy efficiency. By incorporating a new Lighting Management System (LMS), Green Dade enabled real-time power control and dimming capabilities to address over-lit areas and enhance uniformity. Through meticulous planning and execution, Green Dade maximized the city’s construction budget and delivered a smarter, more sustainable lighting solution, reinforcing Miami Beach‘s commitment to innovation and public safety.
Green Dade provided professional engineering services for the installation of Level 2 Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Stations at two Miami-Dade County Department of Solid Waste Management locations, including 8831 NW 58th St, Doral, FL. Our scope included concept design, development of construction documents, permitting, bidding support, and construction management. The 58th St location has been successfully completed, while the second site (3B Site) is pending construction. Each site features a new dedicated electrical service, including a main panel, meter, and underground conduit connecting to FPL’s service point, supporting five (5) double EV charging stations to accommodate up to ten (10) vehicles simultaneously. Green Dade was responsible for verifying existing site conditions and power capacity, as well as overseeing site re-pavement, re-striping, and installation of safety bollards and signage. Our expertise ensures the successful deployment of sustainable EV infrastructure, advancing Miami-Dade County’s commitment to clean energy and transportation innovation.
Green Dade, in partnership with the Miami-Dade County Public Housing Department, has been providing electrical recertification services for multiple multiunit residential buildings, including Little Havana Homes (28-units), Lemon City (10—units) and more. The scope of work includes comprehensive electrical inspections, identification of non-compliant systems, and the implementation of necessary repairs and upgrades to meet 40-year recertification requirements.
Green Dade ensures that all electrical systems comply with local and national electrical codes, addressing deficiencies in power distribution, grounding, overcurrent protection, and safety compliance. This ongoing collaboration with the MDC Public Housing Department has been and continues to be instrumental in enhancing the safety and reliability of electrical infrastructure in these residential communities.
As part of the West Avenue Neighborhood Improvement Project, Miami Beach is implementing a comprehensive infrastructure upgrade to mitigate climate change impacts and aging systems. This Design-Build (D/B) Stormwater project includes the replacement of water and sewer systems, installation of a 120,000 GPM master stormwater pump station, roadway elevation, new stormwater drainage collection and pumping systems, upgraded street and pedestrian lighting, new traffic signals and mast arms, landscaping, and a segment of Baywalk construction. The project also provides permanent auxiliary power generators to ensure uninterrupted pump station operation during power outages.
Green Dade serves as the Electrical Engineer of Record, providing permitting and post-design services. His scope includes designing electrical infrastructure for the Sextuple-135HP Stormwater Pump Station, integrating a 1.25MVA emergency generator and a 5,000-gallon UL142 fuel storage tank. Additionally, Green Dade oversees the installation of RTUs and SCADA systems, supporting the City‘s communications improvement initiative. Through our expertise, Green Dade is delivering a resilient and sustainable solution to enhance flood protection and ensure long-term reliability of critical infrastructure for the Miami Beach community.
